CDL 2021 Major 1 - Day 4 Preview

Charlie Cater

The CDL Major action continues with three more matches tonight. We start off with two, with the third being the winners of both battling it out.

New York Subliners (1.43) vs Los Angeles Guerrillas (2.48)

New York Subliners pulled off a reverse sweep of their own against the Florida Mutineers last night, and they looked great doing it. The squad looks to be in fine form, and the first two maps were thrown by the Subliners, meaning they really should've won all five.

The Los Angeles Guerrillas have done extremely well to get to this point, and they have a major advantage when it comes to experience over New York. This will be a close game, and the Guerrillas could come out on top in the clutches due to the experience they have.

Los Angeles Thieves (3.15) vs OpTic Chicago (1.28)

Following a clinical 3-0 with a 2 vs 7 comeback in Control last night against Toronto Ultra, the Thieves have all the momentum needed going into this matchup. Last time they faced in the Kickoff Classic it was all OpTic. They won’t want a repeat of this.

OpTic look extremely good, and their Game Five Round 11 defeat to Dallas Empire shows how strong they are this year. Dashy has been dominating, and he will need to keep up the slaying power in this series against former teammates, Slasher and Kenny. OpTic are favoured here, but it could go the distance.

Day four of the 2021 CDL Major 1 kicks off tonight at 8PM GMT.
