CDL 2021 Stage 2 Week 1 - Day 1 Preview

Charlie Cater

Tonight the Call of Duty League action returns with two matches to kick off Stage 2 in the Toronto Ultra Home Series. Here’s the odds and our preview of the games.

Atlanta FaZe (1.18) vs New York Subliners (4.00)

Coming off the back of their dominant victory in the Stage 1 Major, 8-0 Atlanta FaZe are undoubtedly the best team in the game. Simp has been extraordinary as we have come to expect from him, while the rest of the team has somehow kept up to speed. FaZe are flawless so far, and don't want this to change.

Following their third place finish in the Major, the New York Subliners will be hungry to get off to a good start. Clayster has managed to mentor this team into a well organised and aggressive team, shown in their multiple offensive round wins on Checkmate control. At this point, if anyone can beat FaZe, New York look like the team who might do it.

Florida Mutineers (1.19) vs Seattle Surge (3.85)

The Florida Mutineers exited the Major earlier than they would have hoped, however they showed signs of improvement straight away. Florida looked sharper in the Major, and they’ll need to keep that pace in Stage 2. Their SnD is also a major factor, and they need to help Owakening.

Seattle Surge were defeated by Florida in Losers Round 1 at the Major, and sit with just 1 win on the board. Their performances have been lacklustre, and Florida are definitely favourites to win this match.

Day 1 of the Toronto Ultra Home Series kicks off tonight at 7PM GMT.
