Tonight the first Major of the 2021 Call of Duty League season continues. With four more matches, two of which being elimination. We take a look at the odds, and our preview of the games.
After going 4-1 in their group, the LA Thieves are flying high near the top of the CDL standings. All players for the Thieves have been great, and there isn't one that really stands out. However, when it comes to SnD, TJHaly has been exceptional with a flawless 12-0 game last week.
On the other hand, the LA Guerrillas have surprised many with their 2-3 start to the season. Their SnD has looked great and more importantly their Hardpoint has improved drastically, taking game one off OpTic last week. The Thieves are definitely favoured in this LA derby, but the Guerrillas can't be counted out.
The New York Subliners look at the top of their game, and will be a tough team to beat in this matchup. Asim has been playing at the highest level we have ever seen from him, absolutely dominating his opponents and pulling New York through to some quick wins.
OpTic Chicago also look clinical this season. They appear to be the best Control team in the game, so a Map 3 ML bet may be the safest one here. However, their Hardpoint has also looked great. If this goes to a game five, New York could take it, but if OpTic hold down the respawns, it should be theirs.
After their strong Stage 1, Paris Legion will have all the momentum needed to push a lower bracket run in the Major. Skrapz has been a player vital to Legion’s success, and he will need to continue at this pace if they’re to defeat Florida.
Florida executed a clinical game against Seattle Surge last night to advance to Elimination Round 2. Their respawn was excellent, however their SnD lacked once again. If Florida can brush up on their SnD, they could be championship contenders.
Minnesota Rokkr will once again need to steal a respawn to take this game. They’ve looked great in Search and Destroy, but their 2 Hardpoint wins in the season so far don’t look too good. However, being the favored team, we expect them to take it.
Toronto on the other hand struggled against a London Royal Ravens team on just 15 minutes of practice. They were taken to a game five where they eventually clutched up, but this was not an easy match. Minnesota will be much harder opponents, and Toronto are most likely leaving the Major here.
Day two of the Stage 1 Major begins at 8PM GMT tonight with four more matches. You can bet on the Stage 1 Major here.
