CDL Stage 2 Major - Day 3 Preview

Charlie Cater

The CDL action continues with four matches yet again, as two more teams head home. Here’s the odds and our preview of the games.

Dallas Empire (1.60) vs Minnesota Rokkr (2.12)

Dallas Empire looked clinical in a 3-0 sweep against the New York Subliners. Huke dominated in the respawns, while 6-0 in SnD saw Dallas completely dominate the series. Dallas look fired up, and they’ll be dangerous today.

Minnesota Rokkr on the other hand will look to bring their momentum into this match. Currently undefeated with Standy, and undefeated against Dallas, Minnesota look great. However, this Empire looks like a different beast, and their 6-0 in SnD today looks great going up against the best Search team in the league in Rokkr.

Atlanta FaZe (1.18) vs Toronto Ultra (4.00)

Atlanta FaZe are without a doubt the best team in the league. Simp and aBeZy have dominated, and the SMG duo will need to be frying in this series. CleanX and Bance are a major factor to Toronto when they win, so they'll need to be shut down.

Toronto Ultra need to take their underdog mindset into this match after taking down OpTic yesterday. Cammy has been dominating recently, and they’ll want to play around him to take this series. SnD is their friend here, FaZe lost when LAG beat them in SnD, Toronto need to do the same.

OpTic Chicago (1.33) vs Seattle Surge (2.88)

OpTic have dropped down to the losers bracket following a 3-1 loss to Toronto. This OpTic roster seems to lose their cool after something goes wrong in the match, so they need to be tougher mentally and not chalk the game after one mistake. However, this team is full of talent, and an angry, losers bracket OpTic has to be feared.

Seattle Surge clutched up against the Florida Mutineers, winning 3-1 with two insanely close Hardpoints. They looked great, and Prestinni has continued to perform. A hot Seattle is dangerous, and we can see them being a great underdog bet here.

New York Subliners (1.41) vs LA Thieves (2.56)

New York Subliners are coming off the back of a 3-0 loss to Dallas Empire. Clayster had a very poor series, so he’ll need to bounce back. One issue for the Subliners is Diamondcon using the QBZ. We’re looking for him to move to a secondary Krig for the extra firepower in this match.

A hot LA Thieves will want to take their momentum into this match following a reverse sweep over the London Royal Ravens. A solid performance from the whole squad saw the Thieves regain and this momentum could make them dangerous.
