CDL Stage 3 Week 1 - Day 3 Preview

Charlie Cater

Week 1 of Stage 3 continues with three more incredible matches to play. Here’s the odds, and our preview of tonight's games.

Paris Legion (1.48) vs Los Angeles Guerrillas (2.38)

The Los Angeles Guerrillas have made a questionable roster change, replacing Vivid with Cheen for Stage 3. However, this means they’ll be coming out hot trying to prove everyone wrong. This will undoubtedly be a close match, however a LAG without Vivid just doesn't look strong enough for us.

Paris Legion took a 3-1 defeat to the Dallas Empire in their first match with Temp. Their Garrison Hardpoint was sublime, and Paris Legion have the talent to be a dark horse team. In this match, Hardpoint needs to be on point to take the win.

Minnesota ROKKR (1.56) vs Florida Mutineers (2.18)

Since the addition of Standy, ROKKR looks at another level. Standy himself has been playing great, but he has also allowed Prestinni to dominate in the Flex role. ROKKR are playing at a completely different pace to before, and their Top 4 finish in the Stage 2 Major should give them all the confidence needed to take this match.

After a dominant 3-0 loss to Toronto Ultra, the Mutineers will need to bounce back. Owakening played incredibly once again, but his 8K damage in Control wasn't enough to bring the Mutineers a map. Florida look beaten still, and ROKKR should take this.

OpTic Chicago (1.24) vs Seattle Surge (3.40)

OpTic Chicago completed a 3-1 win over the Royal Ravens in their first match of Stage 3. Scump is dominating, and this rejuvenated OpTic look dangerous. After placing Top 6 in both Majors so far, Chicago are looking to improve on that, and guarantee that first seed in the group.

Seattle Surge were defeated 3-2 by LA Thieves in a reverse sweep. Seattle looked off the pace, and they struggled to clutch up when needed. Whether this be down to them, or just the playstyle of the Thieves. We don't know. But this match looks tough for Surge.
