CDL Stage 4 Major - Day 1 Preview

Charlie Cater

LAN is finally back! All 12 Call of Duty League teams gather in Texas for the fourth Major of the season, and the first on LAN. With four matches tonight to kick off the event, here’s the odds and our preview.

London Royal Ravens (1.71) vs Seattle Surge (1.95)

The London Royal Ravens recently took down the LA Guerrillas 3-1, giving them some great momentum heading into the Major. Afro had a great series, and if he can continue to perform that well on a regular basis, London could make a great run at this Major.

On the other hand, Seattle Surge were victims of yet another defeat as they fell 3-1 to Paris Legion. Seattle have struggled all season, and LAN is their only hope. This won't be an easy match, but it should go the way of London.

LA Thieves (1.21) vs Los Angeles Guerrillas (3.60)

LA Thieves have struggled recently, and in their first week with the new squad, didn't manage to win a series. This new squad looks like their best yet on paper, and going back to LAN they should improve, however, their opposition is full of LAN veterans.

The Guerrillas are being majorly underestimated in this match. While they;ve only won 7 series all season, two of those are against the Thieves. Their roster is also extremely experienced, meaning LAN will only improve them. LAG are a great underdog bet here.

OpTic Chicago (1.49) vs Dallas Empire (2.34)

OpTic Chicago dominated the LA Thieves in a 3-1 win to close out Stage 4 pool play, and they’ll need to bring that momentum into this match. With OpTic having a lot of LAN experience on their roster, they’ll be excited to get back, and should take this game.

However, Dallas Empire have recently found some form, especially Vivid. Vivid recently has performed at his best, and if Crimsix can bring his top level gameplay too, this should be a close match. With some hostility between Crimsix and Formal, this match has more than just 10 CDL Points on the line.

New York Subliners (1.70) vs Minnesota ROKKR (1.94)

The New York Subliners will be playing the fourth Major of the season without Asim. This is due to him having visa issues, and therefore not able to enter the US. This means that the Subliners won't be as favoured as before, and ROKKR could steal a win here.

Minnesota ROKKR look to gradually be returning to their form when they first signed Standy, possible Major contenders. Going up against the Subliners missing Asim, they need to take advantage. ROKKR are a great underdog bet, and this match should be close.
