CDL Stage 4 Major - Day 2 Preview

Charlie Cater

Last night the Call of Duty League returned to LAN for the first time in the 2021 season. We saw some excellent matches, and with four more tonight, here’s the odds, and our preview.

Paris Legion (1.82) vs Seattle Surge (1.82)

Paris Legion had a strong end to Stage 4 as they secured a start in Round 2 of the Lower Bracket. Their recent performances have been good, and they’ll be looking to continue this form onto LAN.

In their match against the London Royal Ravens, Seattle Surge were dominant. Octane showed how well he can perform on LAN, and the Surge looked great. Surge are yet to win a Control against Paris, however their recent performances have been a lot better. Control will decide this series, Map 3 is crucial for the winner.

Florida Mutineers (1.35) vs Los Angeles Guerrillas (3.00)

The Florida Mutineers have been dominant recently, and their Stage 4 performances give them a one round bye at the Major. Given their recent gameplay, they should win this match, with two rookies looking to prove themselves on LAN for the first time.

The LA Guerrillas showed up against their rivals LA Thieves last night and took a 3-2 win. This wasn’t too surprising, given the Thieves subbed in Drazah just minutes before the match, and their historic 2-0 record against Thieves this season. However, we expect the Mutineers to be too much in this matchup. Here, it could be over in three.

Toronto Ultra (1.55) vs Dallas Empire (2.20)

Toronto Ultra have without a double been one of the top 2 teams in the league since Stage 2. Following their early defeat to Florida Mutineers in Stage 4, they’re yet to drop a single map, and this momentum will be great heading into their first match at the Major.

Dallas Empire shocked fans of the CDL when they defeated OpTic Chicago 3-0 last night. This was a dominant performance, and Dallas Empire looked great. While they may make this match close, Toronto look too good and should take this one home.

Atlanta FaZe (1.12) vs Minnesota ROKKR (4.80)

Atlanta FaZe are the best team in the game heading into the first LAN Major of the year. They went 5-0 in Stage 4, and will be looking to continue their unbeaten run. FaZe are dangerous online, so they may be a different beast on LAN.

Minnesota ROKKR looked incredible on LAN as they took down the New York Subliners 3-0. While they were playing with Decemate who was standing in for Asim, this was still a great win, and ROKKR looked dominant. However, FaZe are a level above Minnesota, so this will be a very tough match for them.
